As part of G2 Automation’s priorities, giving back to local faith-based charities who are committed to preventing deaths due to opioid and heroin is critical to us. In 2019, over 70% of overdose deaths in the U.S. involved an opioid like prescription opioids, heroin, or synthetic opioids like fentanyl. From 1999 to 2019,nearly 841,000 people died from a drug overdose. As a result, thousands of parents have lost sons and daughters across the country to this epidemic. Sadly, Greg’s son was one of those who lost his life in 2015. “Greg was a beautiful mind, gifted, and had a bright future ahead of him when his addiction ended everything”. The company name, G2, is in memory of Greg’s son, Greg II.
Before forming G2 Automation, Greg Bass served as the chief designer for many years and later as the Principal Engineer for a leading OEM whose customers include Tyson Foods, Sanderson Farms, Perdue, Boeing Aircraft, and Duke Energy to name just a few. During his span of 32 years there, Greg was a highly successful electro-mechanical engineer. He developed a lengthy track record for robust designs and inventiveness, which lead to numerous revolutionary products and solutions in the process cooling, ice making, and refrigeration markets, along with (6) U.S. patents. These patented and proprietary ideas are still in use today.
In addition to being an engineer and entrepreneur, Greg is an avid bee keeper, having learned from his Dad at an early age. He recognizes the important relationship between bees and farms in North Carolina.
